Belvedere e marmotte dei giganti
Logged by Ribena under Walking
A nice walk with Cami in the sun (although the air is still a bit fresh, fortunately), up past belvedere and returning via the top of Marmitte dei Giganti. Followed by a nice cappuccino in the piazza. A nice way to start the day before going to work :-)

Nice Autumn/Winter walk with Jeff from Chiavenna up to Pianazzola to San Carlo and back to Chiavenna. Two tired beans after a long tiring week in Genova for my physio course...

With the lovely Marica :-)
Soglio-Plan Vest
Logged by Ribena under Walking
Intended on going mountain biking with Dan up at maloja, but got as far as promontogno and saw that the pass was deep in snow after the rain over the weekend! So we went for a hike from Soglio up to the Plan Vest. Spectacular views of Badile etc covered in snow.
Day on the lake!

Spent the afternoon with Anna, Brian and Nathan down at Lago di Como. Lunch followed by a boat ride out to bellaggio and then a swim in the lake with Nathan. Got back in time to bring Nathan climbing for a couple of hours at sasso del Drago with Jeff before dinner. He did great!
Walk and swim at Aquafraggia

Took a nice walk with Aunt Anna, Brian and Nathan who arrived in Chiavenna this afternoon. Walked on the Pista ciclabile to the waterfall and took a dip in the icy water with Nathan. Followed by ice-creams in the sun, and back to town for an aperitivo in the piazza :-)
stroll after the storms

The magic of the valley after 24 hours of rain storms. Simply breathtaking. Big mysterious cloud formations making their way up out of the valley, clinging to the mountain sides. The river roaring and violent with all the extra flow. A quick walk on the Pista ciclabile to get a breath of fresh air after all day indoors...
Hike on Via Spluga
Logged by Ribena under Walking
Biked to the start of the Via Spluga just behind Mese (7/8 mins from home), then walked out and back on the Spluga trail. Really lovely trail, a lot of single track, some wider trail and mostly in the dappled light of the forest, following along the side of the River as it gets gradually steeper up the valley. At one point there's some noise from the construction on the other side of the river, but only a couple of minutes and then you pass it, and back to the sounds of the birds and the river :-))) Times: to San Giacamo: 30 mins from home
a long walk

Peter and I awoke on Sunday to a beautiful day, however, I was still feeling the effects of a late-spring cold. So, instead going for a run, we decided to hike around the neighborhood. Our "urban" adventure ended up taking us to the mountains and up a creek bed, but we did get to explore a few neighborhoods that we haven't been in before. Our "easy" walk turned into 9 miles with some rock hopping, but it was still a fun day and on the way home we took the route by the Mission.
